Welcome to my new Blogsite. Thanks for taking the time to find out a little about me. I encourage you to call, email and/or meet me to broaden the impression you find here. Why? Because I believe your search for a photographer should also include establishing a connection with the person you might hire. Secondarily, each client’s photographic needs are unique, so packages may be customized to fit your budget and individual requests. Lastly, the bottom line is that when you are feeling comfortable and trust your photographer, your photographs better capture the “real you”. With confidence in your photographer, you will feel more at ease and your images become “true” windows into your life –your emotions, your celebrations, and the quiet details of your day.
I am a Los Angeles native, thrilled with being a “Dad” to an amazing daughter. I have always been around photography–it runs in my family. My introduction was with film, chemicals, the dark room, light, and time. Now that I have been shooting digitally for some time, I love the freedom that professional digital equipment brings to the initial image capture and enjoy getting lost in the magic and creativity of post processing digital files.
I started my photography business in 2007 after selling a successful business serving the local film and television industry. I love every minute of my new path; the challenges and all the new people who have entered my life. I am continually inspired by the world around me and especially my clients who generously share the magic and grace of their souls.
What style of photographer am I? I am a creative photojournalist. Sometimes I capture moments by quietly predicting, anticipating, and watching for certain events to unfold; at other times I am purely reacting to the brilliantly unexpected. I don’t dictate the flow, I follow it, eyes wide. The way I see it, I am being hired to capture images that tell the story of your day, as it happened–that is my mission. I believe the reason you would hire me to capture the cherished moments of your life is because my artistic perspective, and vision, are compatible with yours. “Vision” is difficult to describe and in my opinion can only really be understood and felt. What do you feel when looking at my photographs?
But what about formal portraits and the family photographs? Well of course I do them, too; I would be remiss if I didn’t. After all, a wedding album is a record, a commemoration, and the portraits that honor your special day are part of telling the story of two families coming together. Honestly, I still get goosebumps every time my daughter pulls down my wedding album from the shelf. It is a special moment for me, watching her connect with the past, with her family–her families. With that being said, I congratulate you and your fiance on taking that first step toward creating a new family together.
Enjoy the galleries, and ask yourself–do my images move you? If so, please contact me so we can get to know each other and talk about your photographic needs. Ohh, and I’m a sucker for a good cup of coffee and look forward to hearing your story.
